My Story

With my academic background in Bachelor of Social Sciences, Sociology and behavioural sciences majors, and Master of Human Rights, I believe in individual uniqueness and rights.

I also believe in families as a collective unit, where members need to feel safe and secure and need to be functional and peaceful within the family despite individual differences.

Therefore, I use the systems approach in family therapy.

My favourite thing about being a counsellor:

The opportunity to get insight into people’s emotional experiences and use it as a resource to individualise needs-based help according to the individual strengths and to help people cope with difficult situations.

I enjoy the opportunity to connect with people and offer support in healing and change.

The counselling process also helps me to focus on self-awareness, and it is beneficial for self-development.

What is unique about me as a counsellor?

I look at individuals as unique individuals and work from a strengths-based approach to help individuals and families move towards change for the better.

Cultural sensitivity is one of my strengths. I consider differences within our diverse communities and focus on what works best for individuals and families towards progress, given their presenting problems, and facilitate the strengthening of individual capabilities and family support systems.

I believe everyone deserves safety, security, and happiness. Counselling facilitates a safe space in the darkest moments, where people may find themselves in but feel safe and supported to cope, realise their self-worth and resilience in challenging circumstances, and work towards their goals, aspirations, and subjective happiness.

What are my goals?

I believe in a collective effort towards individual help for the collective good and offer support towards hope, healing, progress, and happiness.

Giving back to humanity what I have gained from humanity is my goal.

Most impressive Achievements?

Motherhood in two different cultures, working through multiple challenges and gaining the ability to encourage my children to become individuals who believe in themselves is fulfilling.

The most fulfilling achievement is being able to share my academic knowledge, use the skills I have acquired throughout my academic studies and working career, and make a difference in the community I live in .

One quirky fact about me?

I was called a trendsetter because of my sense of fashion and dress styles, but I have never been to a beautician for makeup.
